Julia Sawalha attends the world premiere of “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie” at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, England.
On the one hand, it’s great to see Julia in something glittery and bright, clearly having fun with herself. We realize she’s not Saffy, but still. The girl deserves a little glamour after two-plus decades of playing straight woman to two characters who embody the excesses of fashion.
On the other hand, it’s kind of cheap and flimsy-looking. It looks like she put one dress on over another, tighter dress. A standard nude lining would’ve been better, but it wouldn’t have diminished the feel of this being more appropriate for a figure skater or competitive ballroom dancer.
The shoes are pretty hot, though. We’ll give her that. Pair them with a basic LBD and killer head styling and she’d have been good to go.
