Eva Green for W Magazine

Posted on June 28, 2016

“Penny Dreadful” actress Eva Green covers the August issue of W magazine photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and styled by Edward Enninful.

Weep for the loss of Penny Dreadful, darlings. Lorenzo has been beside himself ever since it was announced that the last episode was the last episode ever.

But console yourself with two things: That the fabulous Miss Eva has got a new movie coming out that looks interesting if nothing else, and that she also got this gorgeous spread in W mag:

On the upcoming Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children: “Miss Peregrine is like a dark Mary Poppins,” Green said. “She has the ability to manipulate time and uses her powers to protect the children. Miss Peregrine will kill for them.” Green smiled in a slightly wicked, knowing way. “And she does! Which was fun.”

“I was not popular in school,” Green recalled. “I was a real geek, hugging the walls. I blushed whenever the teacher would ask me a question. I was paralyzed.”

While it makes perfect sense for any editorial featuring Eva Green to put as much focus on that face as possible, we have to say, the shot of her on the log in the hat is so stunning that we wish the entire editorial had been done that way.

So it’s like the X-Men, except with more whimsy?
