Miss Lady is having herself a post-Tony win victory lap and we can’t say we blame her. She made quite a splash on Sunday night, showing up for the awards in what was probably one of the most talked-about looks of the evening and then walking off with a trophy for herself.
It looks like boldness will continue to be on the style menu for her:
That dress is insane. We’re not even sure we could rightly call it “pretty.” And yet she looks amazing in it. It helps that the face styling is amazing and the jewelry well-chosen, but even so. This dress should not work at all and here it is, working like gangbusters for her. Or put more accurately, working like gangbusters BECAUSE OF her. No one else should ever attempt to wear this dress.
We don’t expect a ton of agreement on this one. That is, after all, a whole lot of dress to take in. And if someone called it “ugly” we doubt we’d feel the need to disagree with them. But it’s so hard to find anyone going for boldness on the red carpet, let alone anyone trying to go for it in a wholly unique way. This doesn’t look like anything else we’ve seen on the RC recently and it looks so perfect for her we’d assume it was custom-made. Bottom line: we can’t stop looking, and since most of modern red carpetry is all about being as safe as possible, we can’t help but appreciate what she’s doing. More, please.
