Not perfect by any stretch, but the overall effect is sigh-inducing. That blue looks amazing on her and her head styling is soft and pretty, giving the whole look a very feminine feel without being too girly about it? Quibbles, we have a few. If you’ve been reading us for longer than ten minutes, you can probably figure out the first two. First, is the hem length, which looks terrible on most women but even more so on a woman with serious curves. Second, not only are the shoes super-matchy in color, but they’re also sparkly like the beading on the dress. A pair of black pumps would’ve looked more chic and, well, a little less “amateur” in approach. Sorry. Gotta call it like we see it. Pairing those Payless pumps with that dress wasn’t a good styling choice. And while we’re on the subject, neither was that clutch. Again, it’s in the same sparkly blue of the dress, which is a bit annoying. Second, the bold graphic, while fun, indicates that this little minaudiere should be paired with something a little funkier than this dress. It’s a tonal thing. The dress is elegant and feminine. The clutch is bold and funky. Never the twain shall meet.

Still, the hair, makeup and dress are all working like gangbusters. This one’s a win.
