Alison Brie attends special screening of “No Stranger Than Love” at the Landmark Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Pity the poor celebrity stylists, darlings. They do all this work to secure free merch for their client, go through a sometimes-painstaking, sometimes haphazard process in which said free merch is whittled down from a pile of options to a small series of options, and ultimately wind up with a dress, set of accessories and in the end, head-styling plan so your client is good to go for whatever event she’s attending.
Then she shows up at the event and gets placed in front of a hideously unflattering backdrop, making all your work for naught. Poor stylists. The deadly yellow step-and-repeat strikes again.
Not that Miss Allison looks bad here, but all we can think is how much better this ensemble would look at some sunlit outdoor photocall. The yellow-tinged lighting isn’t the best way to set off that pretty blue. More natural lighting would’ve had it setting off her eyes perfectly.
Anyway, we’re quibbling about non-fashion shit. The dress is pretty, if a little stiff-looking. The shoes are okay. The head-style is good. Our only real critique is that she could’ve used a bit of jewelry, but alas, cuffs and bangles and cocktail rings don’t seem to be as much in style as they were a year or two ago.
