Taylor Schilling attends PaleyLive LA: An Evening with “Orange is the New Black” at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, California.
Miss Taylor hasn’t always had the best red carpet track record, although she’s shown a lot of improvement over time and we’ve always appreciated that she was at least committed to getting it right. She doesn’t half-ass things. But we have, over time, developed an idea in our heads of what kind of style archetype she should be modeling her choices on, based partially on her looks and partially on the kinds of outfits she pulls off best: late seventies Lauren Hutton.
And while this look is many things:
It’s not remotely what we had in mind for her.
Which is why we’re turning final judgment over to you. Because our impulse is to hiss at it and say “Girl, that’s NOT your dress” in judgmental tones. But maybe we’re just being narrow-minded? Hard to imagine, we realize, but still. Maybe this is cute and we’re not seeing it. If that’s the case, convince us. If it’s not, validate us:
