The lament of the bitchy fashion blogger, darling. Prepare to be hit in the face with the ne plus ultra of first world problems.
We’re loving all the sparkly dark fantasy/Disney witch gowns that have been populating our red carpets this spring (mostly from McQueen and Valentino), because it’s a look that works for a lot of different types and it tends to have all the advantages of a little black dress with just enough wit and shimmer to be glamorous and photogenic. It’s a win-win all around. Ladystars get to sparkle and bitchy bloggers get to give them a thumbs-up (or two) for looking fab.
But there’ve been so many of them unleashed on the red carpets of the world in such a relatively short period of time that we’re worried this trend will flame out sooner rather than later. And what will we do then, darlings? What will we all do then?
But truly, this works very well for her. We’re always bitching about wide, plunging necklines but this one really suits the wearer. Love the jewelry. We’d been asking for pendants to make a red carpet return for years. Nice to see it finally happened. That’s another trend we hope doesn’t flame out too quickly.
