Darlings, the new trailer for Season 4 of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black just dropped! And it’s …
INTENSE AS FUCK.
Woof. This might be a tough season to sit through. In the time since the show launched – or even in the time since last season dropped – America’s prison system has become a major political and social topic of controversy. And it looks like the show is taking the opportunity to really reflect the zeitgeist’s interest in the matter, which can only make for some disturbing and infuriating scenarios for the ladies of Litchfield.
On the other hand, there were more than a couple of darkly laugh-out-loud lines (especially the ones about Obama’s effect on their lives) in this trailer, which indicates that the show’s savage wit may still be in place.
We didn’t love every aspect of season 3, but we can’t say the show suffered from lack of energy or story-telling possibilities. It may not have gone in quite the direction we would have wanted, but we can’t say the show feels stale as it heads into its fourth season.
All 13 episodes of “Orange is the New Black” Season 4 will launch Friday, June 17 on Netflix. We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty sure we won’t be getting much sleep that weekend.
