It’s always fun when some celebrity puts on some of the most coveted and expensive fashion in the world – and works really, really hard to make it look like it all doesn’t matter to her. Granted, given how Miss K tends to dress in her regular life, we’re pretty sure putting on Chanel and posing for pictures doesn’t exactly thrill her.

We’re not mad at this. In a more conventional red carpet setting, like a premiere or awards show, we’d be vehemently against this look, but it’s perfectly fine to get a little punk-lite with your styling. We like the hair and makeup for her. It suits her, it’s photogenic, and it fits with the vibe of the setting. But the dress is hard to like. It combines old school Chanel style motifs with some attempts at hardness or edginess, but it doesn’t quite stick the landing. The leather details and lacing can’t disguise that the rest of it looks kind of old and dowdy. We’d have much rather seen her style her head like that and then pick an ensemble that actually goes with it.
