Hmm. Miss V, we’re not so sure on this one.
Okay, now we are. Walk with us.
At first glance, we thought she was going for work-a-day, get-the-job-done red carpetry with a vaguely Michelle Obama-esque tone to it. And it could have been that, but the fit’s not so hot and the cutouts do nothing for her. The shape and poor fit of the dress render it kind of dowdy on her, which makes the cutouts all the worse. The shoes are okay, but it would’ve been nice to pick that silver up somewhere else in the look. A bracelet or necklace would’ve helped. And as per the uzh, we’re sorry to say, her makeup is harsh and heavy. Just goes to show that defaulting to the LBD is no guarantee that you got it right by playing it safe. You still have to pick the right one for you and then style it in a way to set it off. Stylists, it’s time to end this spring 2016 red carpet micro-trend, yes?
