There are several avenues of discussion here. We could talk about what we think might be a venue-appropriate style for a venue like the Newport Beach Film Festival. Then we could discuss whether Miss Kate’s ensemble embodies that style and what changes would need to be made to improve it. We could discuss the curious lack of jewelry . We could discuss whether her makeup is overapplied or if a baby slapped her on each cheek in the past few minutes. We could discuss whether or not her skirt is badly designed or just plain crazy. We could discuss the rather notable color choices and whether or not we should all seek out an eye doctor and be checked for retinal damage. But we’re not going to discuss any of these things because we’re all struck dumb by how painful her shoes look, both to her feet and to all our souls.
