“Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus attends the 2016 Time 100 Gala at the Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Well now we feel bad.
We’ve been ragging on Miss Julia for years because she’s been in one of the longest-lasting red carpet style ruts we’ve ever seen. It’s been nothing but sturdy, get-the-job-done black dresses for years now. And because we are who we are (a couple of professional bitches), we’ve been complaining about it pretty much every time she steps out.
And now she’s wearing something completely different and unexpected and we feel like we’re supposed to praise her and sing hosannas, but … we don’t much like the dress. We don’t hate it, but it just kind a sits there. The neckline and cap sleeves seem unresolved somehow and we’re not feeling the color scheme or the embroidery. It looks like ladies room wallpaper. Are we awful? Should we be more supportive? We’d hate for her to run back to her LBDs because we were bitchy about this (since all celebs hang on our every word, obvs). Maybe we’re looking at it wrong. You tell us:
