Jessica Chastain attends the premiere of Universal Pictures’ “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, California.
Wow! We think we love this! No, wait! We think we hate it!
Seriously, we’re going back and forth on this one several times a second, it seems. It’s the my daughter/my sister/my daughter of red carpet gowns – around here, at least.
We love the colors and the sparkle. We love that it’s bold and unexpected. We love that it works so well with her coloring.
We HATE the way it’s shaped. It shortens her torso and obliterates her waist. The view from the back makes it look like she’s wearing a bib. It’s the least sexy open back we’ve seen in a long time. And all that heavy black geometric trim works so very hard to ruin the bright, colorful, sparkly aspect, which is the very best part of the dress.
This one could’ve been a stunner but there are just too many issues with it, as far as we’re concerned. Some serious editing was in order, not to mention a much better fit. Kudos to her for picking it, but we think it let her down.
