Gwyneth Paltrow signs copies of her new book, “It’s All Easy: Delicious Weekday Recipes for the Super-Busy Home Cook,” at Barnes & Noble in New York City.
Perhaps we’re in a very forgiving mood today (we did more or less give a thumbs up to hot pink satin pajamas not an hour ago), but we actually like this look for Gwynnie.
We don’t see her in black very often. What with all the complaining we’ve been doing lately about the proliferation of funeral dresses on celebrity poledance tours, we don’t actually mind this look. That’s due partially to the rarity of seeing her not look washed out and also due to how well this outfit suits her. It’s just so totally Gwynnie in that vaguely pretentious way even as it manages to be notable for stepping outside her comfort zone. And given how ridiculous and impractical some celebrity book tour ensembles tend to be, this deserves a nod for at least being somewhat practical and comfortable.
It suits her while managing to be different and it makes practical sense for the venue. Gotta say, we’d probably hate this on anyone else, but she nailed it for herself.
With the stipulation that the hair and shoes are terrible, of course.
