That backdrop screams “GIVE US ALL YOUR MOMMY-MONEY, MOMMIES!!!!!”

We joke because we love. This is just good marketing at work. If it was some dude movie, the backdrop would be all tequila brands, condoms and men’s magazines. This is just the mom version of that.

But here’s what we don’t understand: if you’re gonna get all Mom’d up at a Mom-centric event, why show up dressed like Alexis Carrington on an off day? We would think this is one event where “business-like” is off the style menu. She looks okay (generic, but okay), but it strikes us as a totally off-tone choice for an event like this one. Far be it for us to speak on behalf of moms everywhere, but if you’re appealing to that demographic as an aspirational figure (which is absolutely what she’s doing here), we’d think more of them would rather see you in a pretty dress, like the kind of thing they’d wear if they got a night off from their kids, rather than something that looks like you’re ready to make a presentation in a board room.
