We keep thinking we’re not supposed to like this. In fact, we both decided to check back with the other one to make sure. “You like this, right? I’m not out here on my own?” But we hugged out our collective anxiety and we’re here to tell you: We’re digging this Olivia Newton-John redux thing she’s got going on here. Sure, we should all pause and reflect on the horror of the phrase “pink, high-waisted formal shorts” but we don’t know, you guys … we’re feeling all open-minded and stuff. It’ll probably pass, but for now, we’re digging the fun, but lightly chic vibe of the ensemble. We love the jacket in particular – and if you paired it with a contrasting bottom instead of the matching shorts, we’re pretty sure it would look less like an ensemble and more like random items. No, you’ve got to wear the shorts to get the full effect, we’re thinking.
This is probably too much thought for such a casual look, but we like it and we think it’s right for the venue. She’s always had a hard time looking grownup or sexy because of her own little-girl looks, but this manages to get the job done for her while still looking fun and youthful.
