Girl, that smile is going a long way toward selling the look. It’s definitely doing more for you than any of the pieces you chose. The skirt’s kind of goofy, but it has potential. It needs six inches cut off the hem, for a start. We don’t care how trendy the tea length is, a skirt as whimsy-heavy as this one should stop at the knee. In a similar vein, happy, fun, vibrant skirts deserve better than boring old black turtlenecks, a garment designed to do nothing for anybody, presumably. Also, while we appreciate the pop of color in the show choice, we think that style comes off a little too self-consciously “fierce” for a smiling, whimsy af girl such as yourself, dear.
Love your show. The “girl power” stuff gets a little heavy-handed (even if it is a welcome spin on the genre), but your innate charm wins the day every time. Which is why we think you deserve outfits more well thought-out than this one, dear. You’re too cute for bland awkwardness in your style choices. Call us. We’ll go shopping together.
