We’ll say this: we like it more than Zendaya’s dress from the same line. In this instance, the color is doing a lot of work toward the goal of making us like it. Miss Kerry simply looks great in pale blues and whites. Additionally, while we still think, as we did with Zendaya’s version, this dress is overdesigned and has at least one too many elements, there’s a sense of really committing to the idea, as opposed to Zendaya’s dress which had the feel of a basic dress with a bunch of design elements thrown at it to spice it up. Here, it all seems a bit more integrated to us.
This is all entirely subjective and arbitrary, we realize. It’s still an overdesigned dress to our eyes, but it suits her well and the various points in the pro column (the color and style look great on her, the styling is all on point, the design elements are more cohesive and resolved – if that makes any sense) help to sell it.
