Julianne Hough makes a personal appearance at Lord & Taylor for her MPG Activewear launch event in New York city.
Celebrities with activewear lines are this decade’s version of the celebrity workout tape or lifestyle website, it would seem. Kate Hudson opened the floodgates and now everyone’s gonna want in on the action. Hey, anything to make a buck, right? It’s a hard, cold world out there for a struggling star. We can respect the savviness of it all, even if we can’t always approve of the style choices made in pursuit of said buck.
Let’s have a look-see, shall we?
Enh. It’s alright. It’s got kind of an activewear vibe to it, which we suppose makes it appropriate if not a little deceptive, since it’s not a piece from her line. The color situation isn’t great. She’s too California tan to pull off this kind of subdued pink. She almost clashes with the dress. At the very least, the color’s not doing anything for her and the shoes aren’t doing anything to help the situation. A black pair of pumps might’ve actually mitigated a lot of the color problems.
Whatevs. It’s not our taste but we can see how it makes a good choice for the venue. Let’s see how she does with her own line:
It’s obviously not red carpet or even step-and-repeat wear, so we can’t really judge it on that level. It’s fine, but we’re not the market for it, so we can’t really say. Ladies, does any of this look like something you’d buy or wear to work out?
