NAACP Image Awards 2016 Red Carpet Rundown

Posted on February 08, 2016

Darlings, let’s skip down the Image Awards red carpet holding hands and spewing opinions, yes?

Chrissy Teigen (in Haney) and John Legend

Girl, that is a lot of work for a pregnant lady to be doing.  You look great, but you really didn’t have to. Take those things off and put your feet up.

He remains adorable, even with the askew tie and slightly off fit.

Laverne Cox in Marc Bouwer

Even though this is rendered in the dreaded (by us) peach, we love this on her.

Michael B. Jordan in Louis Vuitton

Hey, boo.

Tracee Ellis Ross in Rubin Singer

Love the hair, love the face, love the drama and the shape of it all. Hate the poor fit in the bust and all those puckering seams. Ambivalent on the shoes.

Amber Riley in Marq by MarQuette

That skirt’s an unexpected bit of scrolldown surprise. We like it, but we hate the proportions on the top.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Narciso Rodriguez

Stunning. Even in a margarine-colored dress with weird cutouts.

Jussie Smollett

Gabrielle Union in Rita Vinieris

Enh. Seen it.

Trai Byers

That’ll do.

Keke Palmer in Cristallini

That color’s kind of great for her, but that bodice is absolutely hideous.

Will Smith (in Berluti) and Jada Pinkett Smith (in Marchesa)

Mom and Dad really brought it.

Not so sure about his shoes or her necklace, but everything else looks great.

Grace Gealey in Ziad Nakad

We’d have liked this so much more if the skirt had been lined all the way down.

Teyonah Parris in Romona Keveza

Fucking fabulous, head to toe.

Bryshere Y. Gray

LOVE. Love every little thing about this, from the toothpaste-colored jacket to the highwaters to the shades.

Mind you, nothing seems to quite fit correctly, but we love it just the same.
