“Marchesa’s Fall 2016 collection turns to the storied paintings of renowned artist John Singer Sargent for inspiration. Channeling the seductive, empowered feminine nature of Sargent’s paintings and drawing from his fascination with luminosity, Marchesa’s silhouettes and embroidery effortlessly connect the artist’s vivid paintings, full of captivating movement, with the modern world. Cascading golden lace and majestic bugle beading emphasize the ultra-feminine strength of the woman that Sargent celebrated in his work.

Lustrous cascades of jeweled necklace dresses are set against regal gowns illuminated with rich brocade-like golden threadworks reminiscent of the royal gardens at Highgrove. Delicate silk flowers and ethereal marabou feathers dipped in dreamy duck egg blues adorn exotic floor-sweeping gowns of tulle and silk organza.
