Steffi gets her Bowie on and nails it. Mostly. Sort of.
This is fabulous and in our opinion, is the best way to do a tribute to the man’s style: by not imitating it exactly but by indulging in his theatricality and weirdness. Love the mullet wig, eyeshadow and insane shoes.
Not so much on this look. While the cape was a direct homage to a classic Bowie costume, the jumpsuit, whether accurate or not, came off way too Elvis; a comparison helped along by her insistence on singing in an unnaturally deep, man-drag voice. The marabou boa was a needle scratch as well.
As for the performance…
She would have been so much better off just sticking to one or two Bowie classics and nailing the hell out of them rather than trying to do nearly a dozen in rapid-fire succession. We never felt like she truly got to his essence because she never gave herself a chance to.
