“Gods of Egypt” star Gerard Butler attends a promotional event for Hugo Boss in Madrid, Spain.
We are on the record for not loving the Miami Vice look of a crew neck shirt paired with a suit. It’s come in and out of style plenty of times over the last thirty years (and we seem to be swinging back towards “in”), but that doesn’t mean we have to like it or that we don’t think it looks dated. It’s kind of hard, for instance, to NOT hear the opening notes of “What is Love?” when we see a guy dressed like this.
But we have to say, if there’s a guy for whom this style is particularly well-suited (pun unintended), it might just be Gerard Butler. It helps a little that the shirt isn’t a basic cotton tee and that the suit is a vivid, but not over-the-top color. It most decidedly does NOT help that the suit is so poorly fitted, though.
Still, we don’t mind this as much as we should. Sometimes, you just have to bend a little in the face of —
NO! NONONONONONO. THAT, Mr. Butler, is a total BONER KILLER. We take back EVERYTHING.
