You can always count on the celebrity ladies to dive straight into the spring collections in the first week of January. Granted, it helps that the past few weeks have been fairly warm on the east coast, and of course, cold weather considerations almost never pop up for west coast celebrity appearances, but it’s still a bit jarring for us to see so much bare skin at at a time when we’re going through post-holiday chocolate withdrawal and just want to live in our sweatpants.
Anyway, this is what one comes to expect from the Audreybot. Maybe it doesn’t have that “broken down doll” quality that we’ve assessed in her style choices before, but it’s definitely in that “classic with a twist” mode that she loves so well. We like the little touches of lace at the hem and the straps, but the shapes and proportions aren’t setting us on fire. The straps look too close together, giving her a “hunched shoulders” appearance and the bell-shaped flare of the skirt would appeal to us more if there was at least an inch or two added to the hem. Still, it all appears to be in perfect Audreybot working order, even if it is a tad expected at this point. She should step up her game a little, though. She’s got a clear shot at an Oscar and going out in semi-basic little slip dresses during awards season is not going to help her poledancing cause, we’re afraid.
