Millie Brady, Ellie Bamber, Bella Heathcote and Lily James attend the premiere of Screen Gems’ “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” in Los Angeles, California.
Line up, zombie-killing ladies! It’s time for your judgment.
We can understand why one might choose such a tea-stained aesthetic for promoting a film like this, but frankly, this just looks like ratty undergarments to us. Sorry, dear.
On the flip side, we can also understand why one might choose something edgy and kickass to promote a film like this one, but this hardly works any better. We give her credit for picking something so odd and head-turning, but it’s hard not to think she’s wearing an elaborate toilet-paper skirt.
And this may sound crazy, but we think we’d like it a tiny bit more if it didn’t have those fluffy cuffs.
Y’know? On another day we’d ding this for being a bit of a cliche, but after those first two dresses, we’re just happy to see something relatively pretty. We hate that we’re once again being forced – FORCED, we tell you – to praise another set of widow’s weeds from Dolce & Gabbana, but at least this widow looks like she’s game to head out for some drinks.
The shoes are awful, howevs.
Apparently underwear was a theme? We suppose it somewhat fits with the 19th Century setting crossed with the 21st Century “Strong Female” character types that make up the film, but we’re half expecting this red carpet to break out into a pillow fight at any moment.
Despite our bitchy asides, we actually really like this one. In fact, it’s the best of the lot. It’s got the sexy/romantic vibe they’re all clearly going for.
Ladies, Miss Lily kicked your asses and now she’s giving you all side-eye. You need to take her down on the next red carpet. Step it up. And leave the underwear to her. All y’all need to find your own looks to work. Bella’s the only one who came close to standing out.
