Credit where it’s due: She knows how to dress for the venue. Last time we saw her, we ripped her for trying WAY too hard to be the cool mom and it’s clear that this cover-up dress is in direct response to our criticisms, which must have cut her to the bone.* And while it’s not an absolute requirement that one dress like Helen Mirren for a cartoon movie premiere, it’s probably not a bad idea to keep things on the demure side for a kid flick.

It’s a pretty print, but we’re not particularly in love with the floaty, filmy aspect of the material for a dress like this. A more blouson top and a swingier skirt is what a fabric like this calls for, we’re thinking. This looks a little too wrinkled and unstructured to our eyes. Pretty, but not quite the right silhouette and cut for the fabric.
