Joel Edgerton and Natalie Portman at the “Jane Got a Gun” NY Premiere

Posted on January 28, 2016

Joel Edgerton and Natalie Portman attend the New York premiere of “Jane Got A Gun” hosted by The Weinstein Company with the Cinema Society and Serpent’s Bite at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The newest cutest pretend-couple in entertainment continues their stylish poledance. Quibbles abound, however.

Yes, they are pretty together, but be strong, kittens. Our job here is to strenuously judge them, not sigh over them and picture them kissing. Do that on your own time.

Okay, boys first:

We’re on board for the grooming and the general level of effort, but this isn’t working for us. For one, it’s clearly too small on him. For another, it desperately needs a shot of color somewhere. That’s too many blues for one look – although we have to give kudos on the sock choice. And finally, while we’re not huge sticklers about where and when to sport brown shoes, we’re thinking this shade doesn’t really go well with that shade of blue.

We have fewer quibbles with Miss Natalie. In fact, we love this look for her. There’s a slight “folk costume” feel to the dress that really works great for her. Much better than the bland Audrey Hepburn drag she tends to default to. The only thing we don’t love are the sheer, floaty sleeves. We’d have rather seen them extend to the wrist with a cuff at the end.
