Anne Hathaway attends the LA Art Show and Los Angeles Fine Art Show’s 2016 opening night premiere party benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.
Hmmm. We’re torn.
See, in terms of preg-style, this makes for a fairly decent set of choices. The dress is comfy and works with her shape, the heavy shoes provide a little visual balance, and the overall look has a sassy, bold, highly stylish feel that really works. When a lady star is baby-baking, it’s a good idea to go this sort of route for public appearances. It’s not a complicated look but it gives the eye a lot to take in, which can be very helpful when one is posing for pictures under less-than-flattering conditions. Between the poor lighting and the type of lenses the photographers use, a pregnant ladystar on a red carpet can get turned into a midsection with a tiny head on top in the subsequent photographs. Best to choose something that tells the eye where to go.
Having said all that, we don’t much like the dress. While it represents a bunch of smart choices for this venue and her condition, it’s not what we’d call a pretty dress. The embellishments are so random and distracting as to be a little irritating and the sheer sleeves with the ever-so-slightly different print are setting off our Fashion OCD. We just want to fix it all somehow.
Anyway, we are prepared for disagreement on this one, which is why we’re turning the final word over to y’all:
