Liv Tyler attends ‘An Evening Honoring Valentino’ at the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund Black Tie Gala in New York City.
This is very much her thing – and we can’t say the gown isn’t pretty in its own way – but it’s a bit too sister-wife twee, if that makes any sense. The shape is so dowdy and the floral … print? Embroidery? Whatever it is, it’s a little on the cutesy side for us. Or at least it comes off that way when you put it on Laura Ingalls’ nightgown.
But a funny thing happened as we scrolled down…
You know? You put a cape on it and it suddenly makes a lot more sense. It cuts down on the cutesy and bumps up the drama factor considerably. Ironically, Keira Knightley, at the same event, looked much better with her big black cape off.
Wait. Is this like a secret Hollywood coven of witches masquerading as a fashion party? If it is, we’re jealous.
