Keira Knightley at “An Evening Honoring Valentino”

Keira Knightley attends ‘An Evening Honoring Valentino’ at the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund Black Tie Gala in New York City.

Apparently, in order to honor Valentino, Keira Knightley had to be burned at the stake as a witch.

And we were all set to say “Girl, why so drab and … well… witchy?” But then we realized she was doing something ladystars almost never do on the red carpet, i.e., put on outerwear.

This is much more acceptable.

Although we don’t mind the idea of the cape/poncho. It’s just that when you pair a heavy (seriously, is that suede?) black cape with a black gown, it’s really only missing the broomstick and pointy hat to complete the picture. We suspect both the dress and the cape would be better off if they were seeing other garments. They need to consciously uncouple for everyone’s good.
