“Our Brand is Crisis” actress Sandra Bullock visits “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
Okay, well. She’s clearly trying to do something here. We have to at least give her props for trying to evolve her style past the shimmery sheaths and black body-con gowns she’s been sporting for years. But come on, this is one goofy-ass dress, no? WAY overdesigned. We might have accepted the centipede trim or the fishing net hem, but there’s no way in hell we could accept them both in the same look. Those kickass shoes deserve a better dress. And please stop being so afraid of color, Sandy. We suspect you’d find it easier to evolve your style if you simply picked up a few shades and started working them into your rotation rather than choosing increasingly odd neutral-colored dresses in a bid to stay fresh.
Also: visible bobby pins. That’s coming back? Because we may be forced to make one of our age-related judgments (as in, “No one who’s past college age should be sporting deliberately visible bobby pins”), and darlings, no one likes it when we do that.
