We’ve bitched about her style choices a lot, but one thing she and/or her team really seem to get with her is her ability to work these high-fantasy dresses that skirt right up to the line of costume. Even before she was cast as Sleeping Beauty in Maleficent she favored this kind of Magical Princess style of gown and she’s only solidified the look since she played that part. She favors pale colors, limp hair and a clean face in her looks. If we were her stylists and faced with those kinds of restrictions, we’re not sure we’d be smart and savvy enough to come back with “Fine. Then you’re doing Midsummer Night’s Dream drag until you grow out of it,” but we’re glad someone was. It’s the perfect way to interpret her looks in a formal setting. We’d almost certainly hate this dress on practically any other wearer, but it’s distinctly suited to her looks and her style.

She still has horrifying taste in footwear, though. Bless.
