“Train Wreck” actress Brie Larson attends a screening of “her new film Room” during the BFI London Film Festival at Vue Leicester Square in London, UK.
Miss Lady’s been getting herself quite a bit of buzz for this performance, with the words “Oscar” and “nomination” making their appearance in the conventional wisdom. Everything about her career at the moment says “GO,” and it’s nice to see she’s dressing the part. When you’re having a good year and everyone’s talking about you and what you’re going to do next, it’s just plain smart to make sure you’ve got your dresses and shoes lined up.
Now granted, we’re not one hundred percent behind this look. For one, the shape isn’t all that great on her; not from every angle, anyway. Second, the colors of the dress don’t do much for her natural coloring, mainly because the colors of the dress pretty much are her natural colors. She needs a little contrast and some richer colors in her style choices. But we have to say, even if it doesn’t suit her perfectly, it is a sharp little outfit. We just love the choice of bronze for the shoes when so many would have simply gone for red or black. It’s an unexpected choice that makes us think she and her style team will have some interesting things to show us for the coming poledance.
We like the earrings but they’re totally wrong for the dress, though. Something much simpler would have made more sense to us.
“Room” opens October 16th.
