Rachel Weisz attends the premiere of “The Lobster” during the 53rd New York Film Festival in New York City.
We’re terrible human beings.
We thought we’d get that out there right now because in all honesty, we feel a little guilty about our reaction here, which can be summed up as “We’d love this dress if someone else was wearing it.”
Horrible. Just awful, we know.
But look: we don’t dislike Rachel. We just find her irredeemably bland a lot of the time and we’re always frustrated by her inability to truly work a good garment when it’s handed to her. You’re a gorgeous movie star, honey. You’re in a dress that costs thousands of dollars that looks pretty great on you. Why is your hair limp and your makeup unexciting? Why are you standing there like you’re modeling a Butterick pattern? Work that skirt, girl!
But truly, it’s a great dress (back’s a bit fussy, though) that simply hasn’t found its wearer yet. We like to think Rachel’s just keeping it warm for someone else.
