This is not a bad look. In fact, this is mostly a good look. It’s just that … well, we’re just gonna say it: Nothing she wears ever really looks like something she wants to be wearing. That’s a problem when you’re expected to dress nicely in brand items as part of your job duties. With her red carpet and various other public appearance looks, we detect a Shailene Woodley-like submission; as in, “Fine. Pick whatever and I’ll put it on. With those shoes.” We could be wrong about that but whenever we look at her public appearance style, it never feels like she’s all that comfortable in her clothes. And like this outfit, they don’t seem to jibe with her looks and personality. We wouldn’t presume to know what she likes, but these aleek, almost preppy-minimalist looks she’s been sporting lately don’t seem to be her bag, really. Get the lady in some pants. Or at least something a little funkier and downtown than this.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the dress on its own. It’s quite cute. It’s just that her whole affect is doing the opposite of selling the look, so we’d rather see her try something that makes her feel good to wear.

Also, those shoes. We’re not sure we can get on board. They might be fun in a real world setting but we don’t think they photograph well at all. We’re expecting strong disagreement on that one. Bring it, wacky shoe-lovers. Can you at least admit they don’t really go with the dress? Nor does the bag? It just feels very random.
