“Orange is the New Black” actress Uzo Aduba attends the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, where she won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama.
Of all the pinks on that red carpet – and there were a ton of them – this was probably our favorite shade last night. Love the halter neckline on her, as well as the jewelry and the hair (although we wouldn’t have gone quite so formal on the latter if we’d been asked our opinion on the matter ahead of time). It’s not an exciting dress but it suits her well and it makes her look like what she is: an award-winning star.
But holy crap, we cannot get past the paint splatters. Way to take a basic-chic gown and suddenly render it downscale. We keep scrolling back up to try and find some way to reconcile it, but nope. Not gonna happen. It’s awful and it ruins her look completely, we’re sorry to say. If you’re an artsy-punk high schooler going to your prom and you hacked a thrift store gown, we’d applaud this look. For an Emmy winning actress dripping with a million bucks worth of borrowed diamonds? We expect better.
