Anne Hathaway attends the European premiere of “The Intern” at Vue West End in London.
It’s … not terrible? Not even bad, really. The jewelry’s gorgeous; we’ll give her that. The dress is inoffensive in that “Oh, an embroidered lace dress in black. How revolutionary” sort of way. It’s disappointing that she chose something so generic but it doesn’t hurt our eyes or feelings. The only thing about it that interests us is the hem length, which we tend to think is a bit awkward. The little flare at the bottom helps the shape a little, but it’s just a weird-looking proportion that always makes a woman’s feet look bigger than they are. On the other hand, it’s kind of nice to see a hem that isn’t trailing five pounds of extra fabric behind the wearer. Are we being hard on the hem, you guys?
