Laverne Cox in Elizabeth and James at the “Ricki and the Flash” New York Premiere

Oh, wow. She really nailed this one.

Laverne Cox attends the premiere of “Ricki and the Flash” at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City in an Elizabeth and James ‘Arron’ dress paired with earrings by A.V. The color, shape, fit and style (sexy, with a tiny bit of edge) are all PERFECT for her. We really like the eye makeup, brow game and strong lip action, but her face is so ghostly and washed out that it nearly ruins them. We’re fine with the idea of coordinating the earrings and bag, but the white shoe was probably a bridge too far. A metallic pump would’ve been a little fierce.

We just don’t get the fishnets, which she wears a lot. It comes off so “drag queen” to us, which we would assume is an image she wouldn’t want to project. Presumably, because they’re a nude fishnet, she sports them to tone and/or visually soften her legs, but we think we’d probably prefer a pair of sheer hose if it’s such an issue to her.
