Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg and Bruce Willis are spotted filming scenes in a classic car for an untitled Woody Allen Project in Beverly Hills, California.
Period costuming: on point. But then, we would have been surprised if it had been otherwise. Woody does love the era of his childhood, after all, and has returned to it more times than we can count in his work over the years. K Stew looks cute, but we can’t help thinking a costume like hers requires a more era-appropriate body. Not that there weren’t girls as thin as her 70 years ago; just that the beauty paradigm of the time was considerably more zaftig, and outfits like the ones she’s wearing here were designed with women larger than her in mind. By 1940s standards, she almost looks like a little girl playing dressup.
Is it us, or do the casts of Woody Allen films get more and more random the older he gets? It can’t be because of his … issues… because he still manages to get his pick of the A-listers. Not so much Eisenberg and Stewart, since they both embody stock Allen characters. She’s the mostly silent but beautiful muse and he’s probably either the stock neurotic Jewish man or the stock fast-talking and witty Jewish man (the two sides of Allen’s personality – or at least, the two sides he constantly and consistently presents on film). But Bruce Willis?
