We hate when we encourage them to try something new, they listen to us, and then they get the details wrong, forcing us to yell at them even though they tried something new.
The dress is cute, and it’s exactly the direction we wanted her to head in after we yelled at her a few times for dressing like she was heading out for a night of random hookups. We think the shape and the style really suit her.
The collar strikes us a bit much. We’d like this a lot more with something a little more restrained than that around her neck. Ditto for the buttons, which are crazy-distracing. Also, the bust is a skosh too tight and there are threads hanging off the hem.
The bust fit, we could switch out the collar for a little black Peter Pan and the buttons for something equally unobtrusive; if we could get someone who knows how to sew in there to fix the hem and maybe shorten the sleeves by an inch; if we could convince her that black pumps are for lazy girls, then we could possibly pull this into something snazzy and unforgettable. As it is, it’s a decent try with some flubbed details and problematic elements. Yell at your style team, girl. They almost did right by you and then they screwed it up.
