Talk about knowing your strengths.
Gwyneth Paltrow spotted out in New York City in a black blazer and white top paired with Thakoon Addition asymmetric layer striped shorts from the Pre-Fall 2015 collection, a Céline blue bag, and 3.1 Phillip Lim ‘Jasper’ ankle boots.
We hereby declare that Miss Gwyneth should ONLY appear in public dressed like the meanest girls in the senior class at Spence. Sometimes, you’ve just got to give the public what they want from you.
It is genetically impossible for two bitches like us NOT to love this on a cellular level. It’s just so relentlessly, unapologetically bitchtastic and such a perfectly #BeMeorDoMe approach.
Sure, she can do Sexy/Glam or Breezy Chic or Urban Boho or Euro-Hipster as well as anyone else on those scenes can (and she doesn’t get nearly enough credit for having such a wide range), but this is CLEARLY her particular patch of real estate on the style archetype landscape. She might as well plant a flag and start laying out plans for her mansion, because nobody can touch this shit like she can. Gwynnie, you are the Ur-Mean Girl and owning that shit can only be considered a net good for your career.
But in true Mean Girl solidarity, we have to inform you with smirks on our faces that you TOTALLY got the footwear sitch wrong this time.
