Charlize Theron in Christian Dior at the “Dark Places” LA Premiere

She’s had a couple red carpet triumphs along the way, but it’s time to admit that Charlize, for the most part, doesn’t have great style.

Well. It’s time for US to admit that. You are on your own timeline and we wouldn’t presume to dictate when your opinions are supposed to start lining up exactly with ours.

Anyway, our point is, she looks very pretty here but we pretty much hate everything she’s wearing or sporting. Such is the power of the Charlize.

The earrings are literally the only things we like here – and they’re totally wrong for the dress. The shoes we merely dislike. They’re not awful, but we’re not crazy about the putty color or the thickness of the straps. If you’re gonna totter around on the balls of your feet all night, at least do it for something pretty, y’know? As for the dress, we kinda hate it. The color scheme might look great on a darker skinned woman, but it’s eye-searing here. And we don’t love the shape of it. Not enough side boob coverage and the bodice seems to have erased her waist. The clutch is annoying. We’re about ready to start a bonfire for all these clutches that probably cost more than the average mortgage payment but nonetheless look like something you snap into your luggage.

But the hair is cute; we have to say. We’re over the red carpet braid trend, but she’s really pulling them off here.
