It’s not a bad look for her. It’s a very nice dress, in fact – even if the fit is off a little in the bodice. But it sure doesn’t feel like June when you look at it, does it? We don’t like to be hardcore traditionalists about seasonal colors, but black and gold is particular hard to pull off the further you get away from your New Year’s Eve invitations.

Is it us or does she seem to not really enjoy fashion? There’s very much a Shailene Woodley-like sense of “I put this dress on because this is the dress I’m supposed to put on.” Granted, she’s much better at the presentation aspects than Shailene is. It’s not that she tends to look bad when she goes out. She certainly doesn’t look bad here. But we’ve never gotten the sense that she ever truly enjoyed what she was wearing. Look at Kristen Stewart. Totally not a Dress-Up Gal. But once she found her style groove, her whole approach and demeanor seemed to change. She’s way more relaxed in public than she used to be now that she’s figured out her look. Someone needs to take Miss Amanda by the hand and guide her through the same process. We refuse to believe there’s a style type out there that can’t be scaled up to the red carpet.
