Evangeline Lilly in Halston Heritage at the “Ant-Man” Los Angeles Premiere

Darlings, it’s time once again to indulge in that grand T Lo tradition of yelling at pregnant women.

Oh, it’s fun and you know it.

She’s worn some incredibly questionable things in her public life so when you put this up against her record, it ranks pretty high. The formal options (all clothing options, really) are extremely limited for a Prego this far along in her baking process, so a classic drapey Halston makes for a particularly smart choice. But why did it have to be this Halston? For once, we find ourselves wishing she’d chosen an all-black version. The white cuts across at the worst possible spots and the fit is awful throughout. Basically, she made the mistake of thinking a dress with a lot of fabric is as good as a maternity dress and sometimes, that’s just not the case. While this style of dress makes a great option for a whole range of body types, the particular belly-boobs-badonkadonk silhouette of the average third trimester lady has its own set of needs – and they’re not really being served here. Too bad, because a black version cut specifically for maternity wear would look awesome on her right now.

We’re digging the shoes and the clutch, but the jewelry doesn’t really go. And that hair is … not good.
