And we don’t even like the dress as much as you might think.

But first, the good parts. We think this is dramatic and feminine and suits her to a T. We get a lot of pushback against this idea whenever we express it, but we think women with square shoulders or athletic upper bodies look really great in halters. The argument against it seems to always be that it focuses attention on the shoulders but we don’t see how that’s a bad thing. Uzo has fabulous shoulders and arms and this really sets them off beautifully.

Having said that, we don’t love this tricky-ass bodice at all. We’d have liked it a lot more if it was just plain black and she paired it with some subtle sort of belting. Still, she got the initial gay gasp out of us and that’s not always easy to do when you’re talking about whores as jaded as we are.
