Ah. We see it was decided that the Jenny From the Block persona needed to step into the light for a bit. Well, that’s good. You can’t play the diva 24/7, girl. That’s how divas burn out. And since you’re clearly a diva in it for the long haul, going out dressed like a really cute car mechanic is how the game is played.

We’re teasing. While we credit J Lo with a ton of image-management savvy, the fact is, this style really is very much her personal style, when she decides to leave the diva drag on the hanger for a night. And all things considered, she looks really cute. Yes, we’re saying that about a denim jumpsuit and a pair of sneakers that look like a crafting queen with a hot glue gun and some dicey ideas got to them at some point. But like, say, Rihanna in a lot of ways, Jenny can work things mere mortals should never even attempt. That’s why, even though she’s trying to look street (in a pair of $1k kicks) her divatude shines through.

Also, this means she gets to eat carbs tonight.
