Maybe it’s because everyone’s been talking about the 25th anniversary of Pretty Woman, but we had a hard time not seeing this as an homage:
And while it’s slightly classier and more upscale than Julia’s hooker drag it still provokes the exact same response in us, which is this: Man, side cutouts at the waist are insanely unflattering, aren’t they?
Not that her body looks bad, but we just don’t understand the thinking behind cutouts at the waist because they do a pretty good job of obliterating it completely and turning a lady into a brick wearing a dress. You can’t really see any of her natural shape. And it’s a shame, because the skirt is pretty and the top, if it was a full top, would work beautifully with it. But y’know? All things considered (like her horrible history with Dior on the red carpet), this is not bad. She wears silver very well and should consider more of it in her rotation. Hair and makeup look great. Shoes are only so-so. Then again, those orange boots on the runway were going to be a tough act to follow.
