This poor gal’s awards season poledance has been fraught with disasters and near-disasters. We figured we’d give her the spotlight while she’s wearing things that aren’t too disagreeable. And yes, that’s probably the best we can say about them.

*shrug* S’alright. Neither chic nor disastrous, it gets the job done. Looks a little like something you’d wear to a funeral at the Grand Ol’ Opry. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given how much we rail against it on the regular, we hate the black lace parts, especially the scalloped edges around her arm holes and neckline. We’d have probably advised her to leave this one to the world of models, where it was intended to be worn, presumably.

This is similarly not a particularly great look that avoids being a disaster. To be honest, we don’t think there’s any way to a wear a skirt shaped like that without looking a little ridiculous. White doesn’t do a whole lot for her coloring, but it’s made worse when she pairs it with neutral shoes. Calling for a pop of color may be a bit of a cliche, but that doesn’t make it wrong. A pair of red pumps could’ve done a lot for this look. She still would have had balloon hips, but your eye would be forced to travel right past them to the shoes.
