Reese Witherspoon in Stella McCartney at the 2015 BAFTA Awards

We can’t quite put our finger on why this isn’t working for us.

It’s a gorgeous dress that fits her perfectly – and the color is beautiful. Maybe we’re just over the super-plunging necklines. This awards season has been extremely booby and these two queens have HAD IT. Besides, Reese, while she’s certainly got the bod for it, doesn’t strike us as the “tight dress, check out my tits” type. This feels forced somehow. Like she chose this dress because it’s the kind of dress everyone’s choosing right now. It doesn’t help that her makeup is making her face look a little hard.

We won’t go so far as to say this is Not Her Dress, but we feel like she’s trying too hard to take a page from the Kate Winslet playbook and Reese, darling, you’re no Kate Winslet.
