We tweet-blurted something about this collection while it was walking in front of us that made perfect sense to us in that setting. “It’s all STOMP STOMP ROCK AND ROLL NYC!” Almost 24 hours later and our initial, almost mindless, barely literate reaction still stands as the best summation. Donna Karan referred to this collection as “The New York Uniform” and like so many DKNY collections, it nails that aggressive, stomping, places-to-be, stylish sidewalk strut you only see in New York. Tailored, clean and layered, with brilliant reds, purples and blues playing off of creams and grays, and the occasional peek of some sparkle shining through now and then, it’s both a perfectly wearable set of pieces as well as a statement on and summation of the city they were inspired by.
